Brossard Air Quality Report - July 2018

Note: The results for July 2018 show that on eight days, the level of particle pollution exceeded the acceptable levels established by the Government of Canada. It has been confirmed that even though not entirely related to the construction activities for the new Champlain Bridge, a link was made with the preparatory works for the construction of permanent noise barriers to protect residents located along access road to road 132. The short distance of the air quality monitoring station from the work zone coupled with extremely dry weather in July account for most of these exceedances despite all mitigation measures put in place by the private partner at the construction site in Brossard in order to minimize dust emissions. The non-exhaustive list of mitigation measures put in place by the private partner at the site are: watering of exposed surfaces, hydraulic seeding/stabilization of stockpiles, frequent passage of dedicated sweeping trucks, wheel washing areas for the trucks as well as the regular application of dust suppressant.
